Prayer Ministry

What is it?

Prayer ministry is simply praying for one another, as we are so frequently exhorted to do in Scripture. It is a ministry of love and encouragement of the Holy Spirit.

How does it work?

The person receiving prayer is asked to give a brief explanation of their situation.

It’s the Lord’s ministry and so the person receiving prayer is encouraged to focus on Him, and those praying listen for direction from Him.

There are many personal testimonies of people being blessed, encouraged, and healed, as the Lord has met them and ministered to them.

Many at First could testify to the reality of that in their lives.

Where does it happen?

Anywhere and everywhere!

We seek to ensure an environment of safety and confidentiality.

1.    Informally: it is encouraged in prayer triplets and small groups.

2.    Formally: prayer ministry is available after most services by those who have been trained and released to do so.

3.    Privately: by arrangement with the church leadership.

Training

We seek to ensure an environment of safety and confidentiality.

All those involved in formal or private prayer ministry have been trained. We have a set of guidelines that we ask our team members to adhere to in order to provide consistency, accountability and safety, both for those receiving prayer and those who are the pray-ers.
