FIRST KIDS – Sunday mornings during church time (11 – 12.15 pm).  First Kids is our main teaching and discipleship opportunity with children – in other words, our version of Sunday School!  In a relaxed environment, the children learn more about God, themselves and the world in which they live.  We use fun and informal ways to teach the children the truths of God’s word and their part in His plan.

First Kids is split between 4 age groups: age 3-P1, P2-P3, P4-P5 and P6-P7.  Children are to be taken into church at the start of the service by parents, etc.  They then leave with teachers after the children’s talk and are in First Kids until the end of the service.

First Kids’ partnership with World Vision

Over the past few years First Kids children have been sponsoring a little South African girl called Delicia through a World Vision Development Programme.  Delicia’s parents have now decided to withdraw her from the sponsoring programme as they no longer require support from the Project in their community.  This is a very positive step forward as the family are becoming self-sufficient, which is always World Vision’s ultimate goal.

As a result we are now sponsoring another little girl from Senegal called Ndella Ndiaye who is 8 years old.  Ndella lives with her parents in Mbella, Senegal.  She has the opportunity to attend a local school and sponsorship will help her continue to receive an education.

(Mbella is a rural community and work began there in 2004.  Poor community health, high dropout rates in school (particularly amongst girls) and diseases caused by unsafe water are some of the challenges faced by villagers living there.)

Christmas Cracker 2011

We had yet another amazing Christmas Cracker event this year when 60 primary school age children came to play, sing, make crafts, and much more!  Mums and dads enjoyed a free day to do their Christmas shopping while the children had a day packed with fun activites!
