First Presbyterian Church Ballynahinch Indoor Bowling Club's annual pairs tournament took place from the January 30 to February 3rd and was won by Julie and Craig McConnell from Ballinderry.
A large number of competitors from a wide area took part and after 5 nights of competitive bowling eight pairs competed in the final.
They were:
James and Madge McKenny
Alan and Roderick Johnston
Irene MaHarry and Dessie Long
Dorothy Kane and George Balie
Graham and Peter Christie
Noel and Eddie Morrison
Derick burns and Noel Graham plus the eventual winners.
In the final, the Ballinderry pair and close contest with Dorothy Kane and George Balie from Conlig. Going into the last end the score was level but it was Craig and Julie who emerged winners of the Tercentenary club.
Alex Gibson, club chairman, thanked those who competed over the five nights of the tournament and the members of the club who had worked so hard to make the tournament a success.
In the absence of the Rev. Mairisine Stanfield the prizes were presented by Irene Stevens.
