Andrew's Trip To India ALSO IN THIS SECTION
Let's get ready to rrrrrrrrrrumble!! (Wed, 23 Feb 2005 12:12:12 AM EST)
Hi There!

Well we've arrived safe and sound! Dennis is flying in from Mumbai in a few hours

They laughed when we booked Qatar Airlines - but it is a very impressive outfit!!

Head off on the 'sleeping' train tonight which is very civilised - apparently!!

Huge population here - 1.2 billion and will overtake China in four years... Consequently, it doesn't have a large percentage of AIDS victims but has the largest world AIDS population - 11 million. Staggering stats...
So we're off to rural India for a week, big crowds and everything has an interpreter. I'm teaching a two hour slot in the Spiritual Gifts seminars, as well as being Dennis' under-study...

Sense of God's favour in what we're about. Also a sense of His power to come.

Thanks for your prayers...

God is good,

Expecting Him to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine...

Thanks for your prayers

Andrew

It's hot hot hot!!!!! (Wed, 23 Feb 2005 12:12:12 AM EST)
Hi Guys

Thanks for all your messages of support and prayers.

Back in 'civilisation' - someone here described India as a place of extreme beauty and extreme filth... The following events can not be adequately communicated by email, words, pictures or video... you really have to have the whole package of being here.

We've come in from the rural area to Guntor, a city of one million with open sewers...

It's hot here, spiritually hot and physically hot. Temperatues are in the forties, the word brutal comes to mind, but at least it's not May: temperatures are 52C!!!

I said I felt we had the Lord's favour, but that has extended beyond the spiritual, which I'll come to presently, to the physical - coping with the heat, coping with the 'basics' and then there's the distinctly supernatural physical stuff. Remember the issue we had regarding the all night train?? Well firstly, I slept all night, I mean like a log!! I was awake for about five minutes whilst others only slept for five minutes. Secondly and more importantly the train arrived ONE hour early. Our guide Joel was amazed!! God is good.

Paul has not been well since Thursday, but is now recovering...

Spiritually hot, Oh God Oh God Oh God. He is truly awesome.

1907 decision cards over a three day Crusade!! Started with crowds of 2500 rising to 5000 on the last night. Joel, Paul and myself got to 'pre-preach' on successive nights before Dennis gave the main message. Basically they get double helpings - it's a tradition here!?

Incredible numbers of healings and some deliverance. Probably 75%+ and that really is an underestimation. The concept of queing is foreign in Indian culture, it's a scrum... So you really are praying for people in a heaving mass of humanity. Moreover as you're praying for someone others may squeeze in between!! And then there's the bizarre - the Indians are quite an unemotional lot, although they do have the most beautiful smiles. So when they're healed there's hardly a flicker, they just say they're healed and off they go.

And then there's the miracles, their reactions even more bizarre because the extreme nature of the healings: deafness, paralysis, and a lady with growths on her arms that simply disappeared over a period of ten minutes!! The exception was the 8 year old deaf and dumb boy - imagine the wonder and excitement of hearing for the first time - big smiles and tears from the mother!!

So thanks for all the prayers and keep them coming!!

Andrew

One thing is guaranteed... (Thu, 3 Mar 2005 7:53:29 AM EST)
Hi Guys

Well we're into our third delivery of the 'Kingdom of God and Spiritual Gifts package.

This one is the best thus far, no doubt helped by the easier conditions: it's a little cooler, only 36C!! The worship is much more conducive to the Holy Spirit moving, both in its quality and its heart. The work booklets have been reprinted since our original receipt of them for the first two venues. Something went horribly wrong in the printers and made them very difficult to read!! The delivery is with no interpreter.

But more importantly the people are a little more open. At each of the sessions there are practical ministry times, involving the delegates. In every situation were we have asked for words of knowledge the respondents have been prayed by other delegates. In every case at all our venues there was an improvement in the condition and at least 80% were healed.

A guy today was even healed as he was waiting for Dennis to organise the prayer teams!! He had responded to one of the earliest words of Knowledge regarding arthritic hands. He felt his hands 'free up' and 'lighten' as soon as he came forward and hand no pain by the time the prayer was about to start!! Not quite the model, but if the Father's doing it, who cares!!

These 'clinics' powerfully demonstrate the simplicity and power behind obeying the Spirit's leading. And confirm to all that one thing is guaranteed...

If you don't step out of the boat, you'll never walk on the water!!

I have a sense that things are going to accelerate and build as we move towards the weekend

Once again thank you for your messages of support and prayers.

Andrew
