  4. ROMANIA TRIP: Fundraising
    1. ANDREW MONTGOMERY’S leg waxing will take place on Wednesday 28th May 7.30pm IF WE RAISE £1,000. At present we have raised £820. If you would like to contribute please speak to Clare or to one of the young people.
    2. BABYSITTING / ODD JOBS: First Youth Romania Team Members (15+ and over) are available to do babysitting or odd jobs in your home for a donation towards their trip this summer with Smiles Foundation.
    3. ROMANIA TEAM ARE REMINDED TO MEET AT CASTLEWELLAN LAKE 10.00AM MONDAY 5 MAY. This is our sponsored walk event. Please ensure you have collected sponsorship for the day.
  5. Friendship Circle Outing Friday 9 May to Carrowdore & Ballyfrenis Presbyterian Church Flower Festival . Leaving church at 1.30pm sharp and returning approx 6.00pm.
  6. 'More...' weekend event incorporating Global Day of Prayer: 9 - 11th May
    1. Friday 7.00 – 8.00pm Prayer meeting at Ballynahinch Methodist
    2. Friday 8.00pm - Sunday 6.00pm Prayer Room at The Edge (Sign up sheet on communion table for OUR specific prayer & supervision)
    3. Friday night 'MorEdge' detached street work
    4. Saturday 'More... on the streets' social action events based at the Square 12 noon – 3.00pm. If you would be willing to serve tea and coffee in the Square on Saturday.
    5. Sunday 7.00 - 8.30pm United Global Day of Prayer service in Ballynahinch Baptist Church.
  7. Prayer Partners: Aim: To enable younger and older generations within the church community to build and develop relationships, support each other in their faith development through prayer. How it will work: Partner together younger and older people within the church so they can encourage each other in their faith and strengthen each other in prayer. There is a sign-up sheet on the Communion Table.
  8. Can you help with the strategic plan? Kirk Session would like to involve more people in the pastoral care of our congregation. If you would be interested in visiting some of our older or housebound members please speak to Gavin Martin or Helen Jackson. We are also compiling a list of people who would be available to help out in more practical ways - for instance providing lifts to appointments, helping with shopping etc. Speak to Gavin or Helen if you would like to know more or give your name to Rosemary in the church office.

Youth!
  • Core: In May and June Core will be on EVERY Sunday 6.30 – 8.00pm. This will tie in with our young adults worship event on the first Sunday of the month. All young people are welcome and a special invite goes out to our P7s who will be moving up into First Youth in September to join us from the 18th May. Core is a night of fun and fellowship when we encourage you to think outside the box.
  • Sunday 11th we will be going to the Baptist church for the united service. Contact Clare.
  • YOUTH ALPHA: For those who want to find out more about God and how to live as a Christian. Tuesday 6.00 – 7.30pm. Anyone welcome. Holy Spirit Day Saturday 17 May 10.00am – 4.00pm; open to ALL YOUTH.
  • More on the Streets: Saturday 10th May 12 noon – 3.00pm. Face painting, drama, worship in the Market Square. Contact Laura for more info.
  • Mannafest: Saturday 10th; Blue Tree’s last night. Contact Nikki for more info.
  • CELLS: 7.30 – 9.30pm every Thursday for all at Secondary School. A time of worship, teaching and group discussion.
  • PRAYER ROOM: 3.00 – 6.00pm every Tuesday a space for you to come and spend time with God and pray for our community.
  • Prayer Points
    • For those members of our congregation who are ill either at home or in hospital.
    • For the MorEdge team on the streets between 10.00pm and 2.00am on Friday nights.

    • Tuesday mornings 7.00am in Baptist Church.
